Firas Rabi

Dr. Firas Rabi is an accomplished pediatrician, based in the greater Columbus area.


With 10 years of experience to his name, Dr. Rabi has a specific focus on physiology-based management of pediatric ailments. As this is a fairly new field of pediatric care, Dr. Rabi is in many ways a pioneer.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Firas Rabi has published numerous articles in various peer-reviewed outlets, including the Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology and the Neonatal Intensive Care. He has also been invited to lecture on a broad range of topics by such well-known institutions as the University of Kansas Medical Center and his previous employer, the Riley Hospital for Children.

While studying to work in pediatrics, Dr. Firas Rabi trained in two of the top training institutions in the world: Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York and University of Iowa in Iowa City. He became a pediatrician in 2005, starting out with pediatric critical care medicine to take care of children in intensive care at both the University of Iowa and the Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where her served as the Medical Director ECMO (extracorporeal membrane). This work involved taking care of children with such issues as complex neurosurgeries, organ transplants and open-heart surgery.

Earning his stripes in intensive care, Dr. Rabi developed an impressive repertoire of skills and accomplishments, and helped teach him how to care for the most severely ill children, as well as those children who have just had open heart surgery and complex neurologic surgery.

Private Practice

In February of 2014, Dr. Firas Rabi left his work in Intensive Care, and moved on to starting a private practice in Dublin, Ohio as a practitioner with Northwest Pediatrics. While not working at his practice, Dr. Firas Rabi teaches at Indiana University as an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics. As somebody who firmly believes in staying up-to-date with innovations in his field, Dr. Rabi is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics, as well as the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

In his spare time, Firas Rabi believes in giving back to the community through his work in various philanthropic endeavors, including the Issa Trust Foundation, dedicated to providing top-notch healthcare in Jamaica. His other interests include reading, grilling, golf and spending time with his two children.
